Tarrant Hinton - Village Hall

Village Hall

In 2007 The Tarrant Hinton Village hall committee started fund raising and grant seeking to raise money to build a brand new  Hall for the village. The old one was a WW2 ex-army hut donated to the village back in the late 50's and served the village well, with parties, clubs, play groups etc, but alas deteriorated over time to such an extent that no one really wanted to use it.

To bring life back into the village again for the residents was top priority, having no longer a School, shop or pub and an old Village Hall full of worm and falling apart at the seams the residents had nowhere to meet up socially.

In August 2012 after  5 years of fund raising, form filling for grants,  donations and a loan the New Village Hall Project Build began,  the old hall was dismantled by volunteers of the village over a weekend then the  new build began. Builders where brought into do the ground works, blockwork and roofing  and when they had finished what they needed to do it was then over to volunteers from the village. Lots of the residents got involved with the project  build in one way or another  which enabled the village to once again have  a meeting place for social activities.

The Hall's official opening  of its new doors was on 7th April 2013 and the ribbon was cut by the eldest  and the youngest resident of Tarrant Hinton.  The hall now in its 3rd year is used on a regular basis, for Pilates, yoga, jazz exercise, short mat bowls, Lunch club, Art exhibitions, Produce show, Christmas craft fayres, Social events e.g. Quiz nights (which are very popular and always full), foodie nights, talks and now and again a film show, the hall can also be hired out for parties.

The Village Hall Committee are very proud of the new hall and feel that the residents have once again a place to meet up and join in with one another for social entertainment, a bit of  a chat and a get together etc, which a lot of the residents attend  as do many residents from the other  Tarrants and surrounding areas .

To find out what goes on in the hall look on the notice board in the undercover walkway of the hall where there is a diary of events taking place, with dates and times and contact numbers. All are welcome.
